Theory of Operation
When the Driver Initiated Override is enabled, the maximum vehicle speed controlled by the throttle pedal can go beyond the limit set by the Accelerator Maximum Vehicle Speed parameter for a limited distance. The driver initiated override feature is automatically deactivated if the travel distance limit is reached or the throttle pedal is released. When the feature is deactivated, the vehicle speed will ramp down to the Accelerator Maximum Vehicle Speed or lower depending on the throttle position.
The driver is required to pump the throttle 2 times within a 15 second time period to activate the Reserve Speed (if enabled) and the Reserve Speed Increase will be allowed (if this allotted vehicle speed increase has not already been used up).
Reserve Speed is only operable in throttle mode and not when cruise control is activated and being used by the driver.
